Vembanad Lake

The Idamalayar Dam lies on the Idamalayar River in Kerala, which is a tributary of the Periyar River. The greatest time to see this dam is during the rainy season, when the reservoir is full and the sight of water rushing from the dam is breathtaking. Some of these species are migratory and can only be seen during certain months of the year. Dam, Reservoir, and the Vaishali Caves are the main attractions. The dam spans the Edamalayar River, which merges with the Periyar River. A wide range of fauna can be seen in the forests surrounding the reservoir. Bhoothathankettu dam
Bhoothathankettu Dam is one of Kerala’s most beautiful dams. It is thought that bhoothams (spirits/ghosts) erected the natural fortification of hills and trees that guard the area. It is located in the Ernakulam district and has some of Kerala’s top trekking trails. The Bhoothathankettu Dam & Reserve Forest is now popular for hiking, with the cave where the Ghosts were said to inhabit and the dam providing a wonderful view of the river.
